I’m very happy to have Ms. DD here to blog. She’s a fun, talented, lady that I’m thrilled to call friend…without further ado….
I’d like to thank the Bradford Bunch for hosting me today. I blog a lot. I’m not sure why. It may have to do with the fact I live a very solitary life and need a forum to connect with other like-minded people. First, I’m a writer, which means I live in a fantasy world most of the time. Second, I live in the boonies of Central Arkansas and choose not to venture out too often into town because I tend to come back with a really thick drawl, a hankering for fried chicken, and to desire to have my two front teeth pulled.
My family understands me. They only call when they want to make sure I’m still alive. They only call late in the evening because I tend to do my best work mid-morning to mid-afternoon, and if they do call early, they won’t know who they’ll get. It could be a bad-ass vampire hot for her first draw of blood after a long drought or a cowboy who’s been too long on the range and is ready for a hot bath, a beer, maybe a woman, and probably not in that order. They kinda know who they’ve reached by how I talk. My accent changes, the rate of my delivery changes, and I have to think for a long moment after they ask me how I am because I have to decompress to remember which “me” they are asking.
So, who am I today? I’m a demon, freshly awakened by the touch of an innocent human. I’m angry, horny, and I’ve just discovered that although I’ve been reanimated, I’m still in deep kimchi. So while I type this, I’m still running through a forest of writhing trees and vines, dragging a girl behind me as we try to evade the horrors slithering through the night. But it’s Friday, so that’s okay. I don’t have to be “writer me/mom me/daughter me” until Sunday when I promised to resurface and spend the day with the real family, at which time, mom will ask me what I’m working on and I’ll tell her until her eyes roll and she tries to remember if she dropped me on my head at birth.
I did come bearing a gift. Post to this blog and you’ll be eligible to win a signed copy of any of my pre-2009 print books (if I currently have it in stock—I have the majority of them).

One of Delilah’s latest releases is, Texas Men from Kensington Aphrodisia. “…Virile cowboys, clever plots and arousing descriptions will make readers sigh with satisfaction.”

Hi DD! And Bradford Bunch!
I hope half of this post didn’t post first. If so you can delete it. Sorry!
LOL DD. I’ll be ’seeing’ that same scene unfolding in a book of yours in the near future DD! When I’m deep into a book, those characters and scenes just stick with me and have me daydreaming of them for a few days after!
Hope ‘you’ come back to yourself later and enjoy your weekend too! I’d love to be counted in your contest! And love to hear next time you’re into one of those Cowboy scenes!!

Hey D!!
I’m actually home on a Sat. afternoon to pop into one of your blogging adventures. Well at least you have whole other worlds to entertain you and keep you absorbed. Because let me tell you, the real world SUCKS right now. Between the economy, the crooks, and realizing my parental units are not 30 anymore so there will be more hospital/doctor visits over the next couple of decades I could use some demon immersion!!!
All in all though I’m good. And I have books coming soon!! : )
March 14th, 2009 at 9:39 am
lol they are not sure who’ll they’ll get that is so funny. And that cover is still hot.
March 14th, 2009 at 10:05 am
I love this Book. YOu rock DD as do your Texas Men. Please enter me in your contest there are still a few of your books that I do not have and would love to win one. Hope you have a great weekend and thank you so much for sharing with us today.

Caffey!
No doubt you’ll be seeing that scene this summer. And you know me, I have to cleanse my palate between demons with my sexy cowboys. Many more to come, I hope!
Shawna!
I’m glad we authors can give you some escape from reality. And I still remember our visit with you in NYC! Can’t wait to make it back up to your neck of the woods again.
Pamk!
Glad you like that cowboy. And thanks for stopping by!
March 14th, 2009 at 10:44 am
Afternoon Delilah. At least no one should hear you as you drag that girl through the woods and possibly away from danger. Though I’m sure the demon could be just as deadly.

Hi Delilah, and the Bradford Bunch,
I just wanted to say that anything Delilah writes is awesome but of course she knows that! I just like her style and her sense of humor that she throws at you when you least expect it. You rock Delilah!

Hi DD, I just used a gc I got for my birthday and bought a copy of Texas Men. The excerpts were hot, hot, hot and I can’t wait to read it.
March 14th, 2009 at 11:35 am
Congrats on the new release, Delilah. What do you do to relax?
March 14th, 2009 at 12:04 pm
Hey, Sara!
Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Brandy!
That demon is dragging her deeper into the forest to keep her alive to feed his own fiendish appetites. Yum.
Judie!
You just moved up to most favorite person.
Cathy M!
Yeehaw!! You know I will expect a book report!
March 14th, 2009 at 12:09 pm
Jane!
Relax?
I try to do things that help me unwind while still feeding my muse. I have favorite TV shows I TIVO–Burn Notice, Chuck, Bones, and Supernatural. I’m waiting for Eureka to come back and fear it will go the way of Dresden.
And I love to read mythology and religious texts because, again, the stories feed my imagination.
Also, I love the time when I turn off the lights and start to fall asleep. I get the best head-rush, nightmare ideas at that moment–and of course, have to jump up on the computer again.
I know, what makes a writer happy is very strange.

Thanks, and there I was drooling over the covers of your “Midnight” series!
Sarah!
The MIK’s or the Dark Realm, huh? I guess I better get to work on both.
March 14th, 2009 at 2:33 pm
I just wanted to drop by and say hi. I haven’t read any of your books Ms. Devlin but I would love to be considered in the drawing. I have heard awesome stuff about you books. I have Texas Men on my TBB list.
March 14th, 2009 at 2:41 pm
I guess that the mind is a wonderful thing. I think that people who have rich imagination are blessed because they can escape mundane reality to something a lot more wonderful.
I have had a rich imagination since I was a little girl and though it got me in lots of problems I would not change it for the world.
DD your imagination and its richness is what brings us here today and keeps us here for now and always

Wow what a cover. I so miss living in Texas for those awesome cowboys. You just don’t see them in Chicago.
Looks like a great read!
March 14th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
Hi Delilah and The Bradford Bunch!
I loved your post and I love the cover. Do you find it difficult to come back to “reality” after being immersed in your storis? Do you you only write one book at a time?
March 14th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
Excellent cover, and fun post! I’d love a copy of one of your books!
March 14th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Greta!
Welcome, and you are definitely entered.
Rasha!
Thanks so much, sweetie!
Cheryl!
I moved from Texas about a year and a half ago and still miss it!
Lori!
Sometimes, I just don’t want to pull out. Especially, if I want to keep writing. And no, I don’t write one book at a time. While I’ve been making the most progress on my “demon-fleeing” story these past few days, I have also been working on the next installment of my free read, KNIGHT DREAMS and playing with the opening of a medieval tale.

“at which time, mom will ask me what I’m working on and I’ll tell her until her eyes roll and she tries to remember if she dropped me on my head at birth.” hahaha! That’s funny! Thanks for the laugh.
I’m big fan of cowboy stories. I love that cover! It’s one that will jump right into my hand when I see it on the shelf in the bookstore.
March 14th, 2009 at 6:53 pm

Amie!
Thanks, hon! Yeah, Saddled will be released on the 31st of this month.
Allison!
*bats eyelashes and presses a hand to her chest* I’m blonde. You’re probably overestimating my potential.
March 14th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
I am an awful, awful person… [no one wants to know what I think of when I see 'DD' anywhere, right? right]
Best luck with the escape, Ms Devlin–and with the book!
March 14th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Azteclady!
Must be a bra-size, right?!
March 14th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
Oh, Delilah and Azteclady, I SO wish!
Anyway, thanks for the post, Delilah! It’s always fun to to get a peek into a writer’s thoughts
And mmm… fried chicken… And that cover!
Sorry, kind of distracted now! Hope you’re enjoying the weekend!
March 15th, 2009 at 2:12 am
ROFL–Yeah, I try talking to my mom about WIPs or percolating ideas and what do I get in return? Not the wished-for: “Wow sweetheart, that’s a fantastic idea!” or “Nobody else will be able to top that one.” Nope. The response I receive is an eye role and: “Where do you come up with this stuff?”
March 15th, 2009 at 2:13 am

Never post under the influence of sleep deprivation–BLARGH!
