I am so excited to welcome our guest blogger today–Larissa Ione is a super fabulously talented writer and an all-around great lady. I’ve had the pleasure to be published in two Secrets anthologies with her–and I’ve also had the pleasure to read her two Sydney Croft releases. And regarding those Sydney Croft releases…wow–talk about HOT reads.

Larissa, welcome. So glad you could stop by for a visit!

First of all, I want to thank everyone here at the Bradford Bunch for having me! I have to say, I squeed a little when Cynthia invited me, because really, look at the authors here!
For some reason, I’m always late to catching a series when it comes on TV. Either I’m not interested, or I don’t have time to get engaged in yet another TV show that eats up my time. So I don’t watch new shows, but eventually, I’ll catch one – and get hooked. But by then I’ve missed several shows, if not several seasons (for example, I didn’t start watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer until season three. THREE!)
So now, I’m busily buying up entire season sets of shows, which I watch while I’m on my torture machine, er, elliptical.
To date, I have all five seasons of Angel, all seven seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, two seasons of The Unit, every season of every Star Trek show, the complete collection of Firefly, the complete collection of The Dresden Files, the complete collection of the old vampire series The Kindred, and four seasons of Sex and the City.
And just now, I filled my shopping cart at Amazon with the first two seasons of Supernatural, which I didn’t start watching until this season, so I have a
And hey, if you like BTVS as much as I do, feel free to stop by my website and check out my new Demonica Series, which is sort of Grey’s Anatomy meets Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The first book, Pleasure Unbound, releases in July. Now, if I could just talk someone into putting it on DVD…

Hi Larissa!
Nice to see you here :). Pleasure Unbound sounds very interesting - I can’t quite picture it. I actually don’t have any tv series on DVD - but that doesn’t mean much since I only have about 4 DVDs to my name.
I generally watch the shows when they air, or on the website, like abc, tbs, etc. If My Boys [on tbs] ever comes out on DVD, I might buy it.

Hi, Larissa! Thanks for blogging today!
I recently broke down and bought the first season of Dexter on DVD. I was afraid I was missing info in the CBS airing.
Cause I’m obsessive like that. The hubby and I finished up the DVDs last night–what a great show.
Pleasure Unbound does look great–that cover is gorgeous!

*waving* Hi, Larissa! I’m so glad you are feeling better now.
I’m just like you–I don’t turn the tv to watch anything but DVDs. Series and movies (we had that conversation here a few weeks ago :grin )
Bones, Criminal Minds, House… yeah, DVDs rock–no commercials, and all the pauses you want or need for pit stops or fetching snacks
March 25th, 2008 at 6:53 am
Hi limecello! Ooh, I’ve become a fan of watching episodes on my computer, because it’s so nice to have them available if I miss them — especially because I’m too lazy to set the recorder!
Cynthia, I’m strangely fascinated by Dexter, even though I haven’t been able to watch it yet. Eventually I’ll end up buying in on DVD, I’m sure! *g*
And thanks for the compliment on the PU cover! I’m in love with it…

*waving back to azteclady!*
OOOH, I love those shows you just listed!!! Bones is definitely on my must-buy list. And man, I love being able to pause as much as I want! *g*
March 25th, 2008 at 7:04 am
Nice to see you here, Larissa!! Lady, a better question to ask is what I DON’T have on DVD. I have several Survivor seasons, Jericho, Six Feet Under (box set with the fake grass on top), Dexter, Project Runway, and my brother has a lot of sci-fi stuff as well. I love all the bonus features they include with the stuff. Can’t help myself when it comes to this stuff.
Oh, by the way, you didn’t include stuff like National Geographic, History Channel, and BBC stuff. I have BOTH sets of BBC Pride and Prejudice as well as the Jewel in the Crown. I’m making serious mad dog love time after RT to watch Jewel in the Crown!
March 25th, 2008 at 7:30 am
You know between the DVR and TV on DVD I’ve come to hate commercials! LOL we have Supernatural season 1, Heroes season 1, BSG Season 2 (I need 1 and 3), a couple of X-files seasons, Criminal Minds Season 1, Buffy Season 1 and probably more….and of course there’s so many I want.
*sigh*
I also do that Blockbuster online in case there’s something I THINK i want to see–that way I don’t waste money! LOL
March 25th, 2008 at 7:40 am
PBS on DVD is also a great thing. I love Mystery but don’t always catch them the first go round. I love the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries, the Mrs. Bradley mysteries with Diana Rigg. *waves Hi*
March 25th, 2008 at 7:56 am
Laura, it’s nice to be here!!!
And wow–you really are loaded with DVDs! And yeah, totally forgot about the National Geographic, History Channel, etc. series! I do have the first season of BBC’s Football Wives on order, and I want the series, Paramedics, from Discovery. Love that show! Ooh, and I need BBC’s Hex, too!
Ooh, Amie, good thinking about Blockbuster online…I should probably do that with Dexter!
Ann, how in the world did I know you would love the PBS mysteries series? *ggg*

HI Larissa and welcome!!!
I loved Buffy when it was on, gosh I miss it! And Firefly.
Right now I love to watch Sopranos on DVD and Torchwood - I find that I don’t have the time to watch shows regularly so it’s great to catch up via dvd!
March 25th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Hey, Larissa! (waving).
I’m another one who’s always late to the hit-series parties, so DVDs are a godsend.

I’m hooked on Firefly. Have most of the Sex and The City shows.
And Heroes, thanks to Amie.
And I’m planning to work on getting the Alias series. LOVED that.
March 25th, 2008 at 10:23 am
I have house on dvd, we actually love watching that show together, and buffy the vampire slayer… I just love spike lol okay angel isnt hard on the eyes either…
March 25th, 2008 at 10:44 am
Hi Larissa! I am so glad you are feeling better. We miss you when you aren’t there to amuse us.
I have Keen Eddie on DVD. I loved that series and just do not understand why everyone didn’t.
Mark Valley was adorable. He was seriously under appreciated on Boston Legal.
I also have season 6 (I think) of Will & Grace and season 1 of Six Feet Under.
I am trying to talk my sons into getting season 1 of Torchwood for me.
And Burn Notice. And House.
I utilize my Blockbuster member quite a bit and have The Tudors and Firefly in my queue.
They have this neat service where if you request a series they ‘lock’ it and send the DVDs to you in sequence.
March 25th, 2008 at 11:34 am
Larissa,
This is probably why when I go home for the weekends I veg in front of the boob tube. I like relaxing during the week, as well, so online is the only way to go, really.
I also watch the shows online because well… I don’t have a tv in my apartment.
I’d like to buy the Tudors, I think - but if I recall, it’s quite expensive. I’d also love to see “Rome.”
March 25th, 2008 at 11:47 am
I KNEW you’d love Heroes Vee!
The Wire is another great one I utilized BLockbuster for. I’ll probably end up buying all of them.
March 25th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
I don’t have very many dvd’s either–The Lord of the Rings. But I thought about getting House. He is such a jerk, but I really like him. Other than that, I only watch the news, discovery or history, etc. Oh, they have managed to suck me into American Idol this year.
Larissa, I love the cover for P. U., too. Looking forward to it’s release.
Oh, and I think Remy and Ender are fabulous!! Can’t wait for Seduced by the Storm.
March 25th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
Hi Larissa,
I have Angel, Stargate and Smallville on dvd. I think my favorite Buffy episode is Hush, where their voices are stolen. I love Ender, too, but I can’t wait for Wyatt.
March 25th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Ok…Y’all have GOTS to stop calling Larissa’s new book P.U.

I keep picturing Pepe Le’Pew!!
March 25th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
Here’s another one, “Homicide, Life on the Street”. What a show…yes I have almost all these too on DVD.
March 25th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
No we record the shows on the DVR and then watch them, we may keep them for a while and then delete them.
March 25th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
I don’t hav any series on DVD. I very seldom watch tv. I prefer to read.
March 25th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
Hey Larissa,
You’ve probably already left for the day. But I figured I say hi anyway. I’m with Lauren, I so miss Buffy. I should start getting tv series on DVD, but right now it would take away from book budget. Oh well, I may have to do some recalculation of some things.
Anyway I should get Unleasing the Storm later this week. Can’t wait for your first Demon Book.
March 25th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
Hey Larissa!
I don’t have any TV on DVDs, but maybe if it could get me to exercize, I’d have to think about it.
Unleashing the Storm was awesome! I can’t wait for your first Demon book either.
March 25th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
OMG–I went out for the day to sightsee with my cousin and her family, just got back…and you guys have been BUSY!!!!!
So glad I’m not the only DVD nut!
Lauren, I have been meaning to try Torchwood…might be one of those series I pick up on DVD to see if I can get into the first season!
Hi Raine! OMG, I can’t believe I forgot about Alias! I love that show, but got in on it late. I have SO many episodes to catch up on!
Tina, I’m eventually going to have to get House!
Aww..thanks, Angie-la!
You know, I’ve been wanting to try Burn Notice. Thanks for reminding me!
Limecello, OMG, I LOVE Rome!!!!! I watched the entire first season but only caught the first three episodes of the second season, so I need to buy both!!!
Amie, that’s my fear about trying series…I’ll totally buy them! *g*
March 25th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Thank you so much, Janet! And LOL @ House! The guy is SUCH an ass, but I so appreciate sarcasm!
Jane, I think you’ll like Wyatt. He’s just so…Wyatt.
And I love Hush! It’s probably my second favorite episode!
Angie-la, poor PU has been a joke everywhere! LOL
Laura, I haven’t heard of that series…I might have to give it a try!
Virginia, I SO want a DVR!!!!
Estella, I hear you. If I’ve got a good book, very few TV shows can keep me from it!
Greta, thank you so much!!! I hope you enjoy Unleashing! And I have to say, I’m so excited for the demon book — and the little duckies that are on the way! *g* And I really, really miss Buffy.
Thank you, Natasha! And yeah, I swear, the DVDs are the ONLY reason I excercise. I’ve tried reading and listening to music while exercising, and it just doesn’t work. I totally justify my DVD purchases by saying that they keep me healthy! *g*
