Last weekend I went to see Avatar. I won’t talk about it here (if you want to hear me rant about the movie visit my blog), but one good thing from the entire (long) experience for me was the previews. There are two BIG movies coming out that I can’t wait to see. The first I’m taking my 10 yr old daughter to next month:
The second I’m taking the DH to in the end of March:
Aside from the fact I am a HUGE Greek myth lover, the timing of these movies couldn’t be better. Usually “they” (the elusive experts) say movie trends are about two years behind book trends. For me, that’s not true. My first paranormal releases April 27, 2010, and it’s based on seven warriors who are descended from the greatest heroes in all of Ancient Greece. Percy Jackson & the Olympians? Dude! Um, yeah. I’m writing about the heroes! And Clash of the Titans? Wow. Perseus? Right up my alley.
Do I plan to play this up for the release of MARKED in late April? Oh, you betcha. I’m thinking some fun movie-related contests will be in order. More to come on those later. But in the meantime, I have this awesome countdown widget for MARKED to share. Feel free to copy and paste around:
And…since I should be getting ARCs of MARKED this week, you might want to follow me on Twitter (if you aren’t already) and check my blog, because I’m going to be giving away a few ARCs in the next week or two.
How about you? Looking forward to either of these movies?

My 9 year old daughter is very excited to see The Lightning Thief. She is currently reading the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan and she is anxious to see how the movie stacks up against the book. I remember the original Clash of the Titans, I might have to check out the remake myself

YESsssssssssssssssss!! I’ve always loved The Clash of The Titans…can NOT wait to see the new one!! And I hadn’t heard of Percy & The Olympians ~~ but I’m a lover of all things in Greek mythology, so I know I’ll be loving it!!

I’m looking forward to those movies, too. I am such a Greek god fan.

Hey Cheryl - my 10 yr old started the Lightning Thief but dropped it for Twilight. Though she’s really excited to see the movie. I should pick up her copy of the book and read it before we hit the theater.
Melissa, it does look good, doesn’t it? I love Liam Neeson and Sam Worthington looks awesome. Pierce Brosnan is also in The Lightning Thief and I can’t pass up an opp. to see him.
Cynthia…thanks! I can’t wait till it’s out. April seems like forever but I know it’ll be here before I realize it.

Hi Elisabeth
I’d like to see both. Have always loved myths & legends.
My son Jason is named after Jason & the Argonauts. Sam Worthington - yummy. The special effects look amazing but I do like the cheesy effects in the old ones too.

Aw, thanks Michelle. I hope you enjoy it. This series is so fun to write. I’m really having a good time with it.
Letters to Juliet looks really good, too. There are some great movies coming down the pipeline. My youngest is especially excited about the 3rd Toy Story installment coming out this summer (apparently Buzz’s language button gets switched and he now speaks Spanish. Looks hilarious.)

I’m looking forward to both and my fourteen year old Daughter ADORES the Percy Jackson books (Did you know the author is working on a new series featuring the Egyptian Gods?) I am so glad she loves greek mythology as much as I did at her age (and still do). Right now she’s inhaling all the Wonder Woman graphic novels, too. *G* Looking forward to your new book out in April!

Oooh, Brandy, I didn’t know that. I love Egyptian mythology almost as much as Greek mythology. I’ll be on the lookout for that new series.
I hope you enjoy MARKED!
