Happy Wednesday, everyone! Okay, today, I’m not going to talk about any writer-type issues. I finished my WIP yesterday (woo-hoo!) and my mind is kinda mush right now, so I thought it might be best if I talked about something I found fun and relaxing.
And, for me, fun and relaxing–well, that would be a trip to the movies.
I saw Ironman a few days ago–loved that movie! The hero was so imperfect that he was absolutely perfect to me. Now I can’t wait for the sequel.
I also saw Prom Night, the teen horror flick that is real low on gore. It was okay (I like horror flicks and I sure did enjoy the villain), but after a while, I became a little tired of the “scare–jump scenes” (by this, I mean every few minutes, I felt like something was scaring the heroine and making her jump).
The big summer blockbuster season is coming up and I sure can’t wait for that! I’m very much anticipating the new Indiana Jones movie. I”m also counting down the days until Hellboy 2 hits theaters (I loved the first Hellboy movie). What other flicks do I want to see? Mummy 3 and Tropic Thunder. Actually, I could probably keep listing movies for a while because there sure are a lot of films I’m eager to see.
But what about you? Is there a movie you’re anticipating?

Hancock! and The Dark Knight (hope I got that right), Prince Caspian and I”m sure there’s more… it’s looking like a good summer for movies!

Hey there! I haven’t seen Ironman yet, but have heard good things about it. I’m definitely looking forward to the new Indiana Jones movie, the new Batman movie, and Hellboy. I didn’t even know there was a Mummy 3. I wonder if that will be any good. As an aside, I just heard they cancelled one of my favorite programs, Moonlight. Figures. Every time I turn around they cancel a show I like. They cancelled Jericho and Journeyman and now Moonlight. Good thing I get digital cable and can TiVo non network television since I’m not much into “reality TV.”

I’m looking forward to “The Dark Knight” and the new X-Files movie.

I’m with Ames - I really want to see Dark Knight, and would like to see Prince Caspian. I just realized there’s the Mummy 3 a few days ago, and am amused. I think there will be a lot of martial arts in that one, based on the cast. My friends will probably convince me to see the Sex and the City movie.
I’ve heard Iron Man is really good…

Hi, Ames! Oh, Hancock looks hilarious!! I love Will Smith.
Denise, I hated to hear about Moonlight’s cancellation, too–although I’ve also seen online that there are some rumors suggesting the show may get picked up by the CW–so perhaps there is still some hope of seeing our vampire again.
ACK–Jane!!! Does the new X-Files really come out this summer? How did I miss that? I had Mulder withdrawals for so long–I’ve got to go and see if I can find the trailer. Thanks for the head’s-up!
limecello–I think my friends might get me to see Sex and the City, too. Is Carrie getting married in this movie? (And I think you’re completely right about the martial arts in the Mummy 3.)

Cynthia,
That way I can get a fix once in a while.
But if another network would pick it up, that would be fantastic. Here’s to another X-Files movie. It’s interesting to see how they’ll do it.
Well at at the very least, I hope they put out Moonlight on DVD.
As for Mummy 3, I wish Rachel Wietz (sp?) was in that one, too. I just love her!

I’m so looking forward to seeing Ironman!

Denise, I wish Rachel were in it, too–I thought she did such a great job.
Wendy–I really thought that movie was great. If you see it, there is a sneak peak/hint at the next Ironman movie after the credits. (But you have to wait a very long time.)

I heard they’re making a “Hulk 2.” Cynthia, yes, I think Carrie is getting married in the movie. When I saw some of the cast members of Mummy 3, I had to chuckle to myself. I’m looking forward to summer blockbusters - I’ve been watching too many artsy-wtf-mess with your head movies recently.
