Jibber Jabber

Happy Friday!  Happy Good Friday!  Happy first day of spring!

First day of spring… that’s funny.  We’re expecting a huge snow storm today, anywhere from 8-12 inches.  Gah.  I tell you, I love snow, but this late in the season it starts to wear on a person.  Plus we were spoiled with a week of 30-40+ degree days… and now we get snow.  Mother Nature is teasing us me thinks.  Heh.

How’s your weather been?

Anyone have plans for Easter?  We don’t do much anymore now that my boys are older, but when they were little, we’d use this plastic eggs and fill them with candy and money and hide them all over the house.  Then when they woke up Easter morning, they’d try and find all the eggs the Easter Bunny left behind.  It was so fun and the boys were so cute.   Then it was off to church and dinner at my mom’s.  Now, we do our own thing.  I still buy the boys candy, I just don’t make them hunt for it… though I miss watching them as little ones searching for their treasures.
What do you all do for Easter?  Any traditions?

No traditions over here–thought while I was growing up going to mass on Holy Thursday and again Easter Sunday was mandatory.

This time? Well, my a/c broke, my mother lands tomorrow for a two month visit, a friend is bringing his family for a week long stay on the 31st, and my house could qualify for a disaster zone–so it’s gonna be cleaning and cleaning AND cleaning for me.

Hope everyone else has a more interesting/relaxing weekend, though!

We have a large white basket that my husband’s uncle gave us when my second child was born (filled with necessities for a new baby). We have used it every year since putting it out the night before Easter and then the Easter Bunny brings gifts. We don’t do candy much so our kids get gifts. Only one of our kids really likes candy so around here it goes to waste or my husband takes it to work for his employees.

My daughter this year has figured out that since Santa brings coal to the bad boys and girls then the Easter Bunny must bring fried carrots to the bad boys and girls.

We used to dye eggs and make candy baskets when we were little. The only tradition now is that I stuff myself with Easter candy.

We dyed the eggs and filled the baskets when the boys were young. Now we go play with my sister’s grandkids. They are a blast! (one boy and one girl)

We don’t do anything for Easter now my son is in college.

The sun is shining and it is 64 degrees.
We are going to our daughters to watch the grandsons hunt for their Easter eggs and to have dinner.

Azteclady- HUGE HUGS! Yikes! I hope you are able to keep your sanity through all that. :-)

Laura- I tried one year putting fruit in the kids’ stockings for St. Nick and they protested that St. Nick ripped them off. LOL So, I figured better to learn it then than on Easter… and to compromise, I only gave them sugar-free gum.

Jane- I eat the candy too. I love the malted milk eggs. So good. And the chocolate… Lord, I love the chocolate.

Virginia- I think you should treat yourself to some chocolate for Easter. Make it a tradition for yourself. *G*

Estella- So jealous of your weather. Sigh. I hope you have a fabulous Easter at your daughter’s house. Little kids on Easter hunting for their eggs is so much fun! in about 10 years (please not any less) I get to experience it again as a grandmother, hopefully. I look forward to it.

Whatever everyone else is doing, I hope you have a Happy Easter and a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
