So we decided to do our best to support the economy. What better way than by buying…A Wii?
We’ve never had any game system, though when I was a kid we had Atari. But that man I live with and I have never been good enough to our kids to get them any of them thar new-fangled game systems. The Wii will be our first.
And why? Why did we succumb? Simply put, I blame that man I live with. He played one earlier this year and was all “let’s get a Wii!” And I was all “…dude. No.” And he was all “but think of the children!” And I was all “…no.”
But then it came time to you know, step up and support the old economy and well, hellz bellz, we’re American, darn it! So now we are the proud owners of a soon-to-be-shipped Wii. With games. And nunchuks. Or something.
I’m not sure how long the joy will last. I told him he had better play it every darned day. The kids are excited, to be sure, and tried tempted me with “GET WII SIMS! GET WII SIMS!” And I was all “…no.” An they were all “BUT YOU LOVE THE SIMS” and I was all “…the Sims is private and I don’t want to play it on a Wii with you people!” and they were all “GET GUITAR HERO!”
And then I was all “…okay.”
But we didn’t actually GET Guitar Hero because it wasn’t part of the option bundle, which guess what, means someone’s got to go looking for it for a birthday or Father’s Day or something present.
Because I’ve already been told that the Wii is for me. For “Mother’s Day.”
Well. It beats getting a vacuum cleaner (which has happened) or some other cleaning apparatus, when all I really want is to be left to sleep in and then given breakfast in bed and let to play The Sims2 without interruption. All. Day. Long.
But not on the Wii.
Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Dude! Chick! Get Rock Band…then the whole family can play. The downside (for me) is they need new rockband games–we already did all of ours *sigh* and Guitar Hero isn’t as much fun IMO. But it is fun! ANd it teaches children valuable lessons about music–namely classic rock Heeh

There is nothing more fun than boxing with your kids. I’m just saying. You know, I’ve heard and all, from other people. Cause I would NEVER take pleasure out of pretending to knock out my kids. Even when they’re snotty and stuff. Not ever.

I admit it, I love game systems. We have gamecube and PS2, and my girl is bugging me for a Wii. I’m tempted, so that I can have the PS2 and I can play Lara Croft Tomb Raider all day. Love that game.
You know, if was in my twenties and have no kids, I’d toally be a gamer.

I like Monkeyball. I think. Haha we only had a NES and then N64 [I just dated myself.]
I want a wii though - seems like a lot of fun. Once they solved that whole “wii have a problem” thing.

We (meaning me and I share it with my kids, cuz I’m cool like that) love our Wii. We just got one a few weeks ago. Today I downloaded the internet to it (you have to buy a points card, but basically it only costs $5 and you will have points left over for some other games from the Wii Shopping Channel).
Our games right now include the one that comes with it and Disney Princess for my daughter, some other game that we bought for the extra remote, Mario Cart and Carnival Games, which is the current favorite. In 12 days (no, really I’m not counting) I will have Wii fitness. If you haven’t seen it check it out, very cool. Eventually, we are going to get the Playground game.
One thing that I really like about it is you do actually have “move” some while playing. My middle child is very computer addicted but with this then he is at least moving around. The rule was no shooting games, any game we get has to make you get up and move.

Estella — I’d never really played it either but we checked it out last night at the Game Stop. It was fun.
Limecello — Monkeyball makes a funny noises when the monkey falls over the side of the mountain! AIAEIEIEIEEI!
Laura J- I said the same thing. No point in getting a Wii if you’re not getting a game where you have to move. Though I will admit, House of the Dead is calling my name. SO not the game to play with the kids but I loooooove shooting up zombies!
